Bio

Born in 2002 in San Lorenzo del Escorial, Madrid, Jaime is an active freelance musician, regularly performing with ensembles and orchestras in the Netherlands and Europe, such as Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Radio Philharmonisch Orkest, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Phion, Atlas Ensemble, and the Lucerne Festival Contemporary
Orchestra among others.


He has been invited as a member of the Pacific Music Festival (Japan),
Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Germany) and the Lucerne Festival Academy
(Switzerland), where he deepened into the orchestral and modern repertoire.
In 2024, Jaime is instrumentalist in residency in Festival du Aix-en-Provence, in which he collaborates with musicians from Ensemble Intercontemporain.


Current chamber music engagements include clarinet and piano recitals with taiwanese pianist Vicky Juo and “Ensemble Mondfleck”, a septet that performs Arnold Schönberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire” and original arrangements for voice and ensemble.


Jaime is a committed composer, taking sounds from day to day life and recontextualizing them in electronic tape alongside his clarinet.

In October 2024 he premiered “(Not) an Answer”, a new program for clarinet, electronic music and live visual art in collaboration with visual artist and drummer Guillermo Martín-Viana.
Aside from these activities, Jaime is pushing to make the Eb clarinet, one of his passions, a more prominent member of the clarinet family, by creating new transcriptions and original music for the instrument.


He has been awarded prizes in different national and international competitions, such as 1st prize in the 1st “Honorable Villa de Picanya” international clarinet competition, in Valencia, Spain. (2022), 1st prize in the “Cidade de Ourense” international clarinet competition, 1st prize in the “Ciudad de Ávila” chamber music competition (Together with Lazarus
(Mendel-Sons) trio).
This has allowed him to appear as a soloist with multiple formations.


Jaime graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, under professors
Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam) and Hans Colbers (Residentie Orkest), and has attended masterclasses by Wenzel Fuchs, Francois Benda, Kilian Herold, Calogero Palermo, Arno Bornkamp, Vicente Alberola, José Luis Estellés, José Franch-Ballester, Harmen de Boer and Justo Sanz…
As a chamber musician he has recieved valuable feedback from musicians such as Kersten
McCall, Erika Waanderburg and Willem van Merwijk among others.
